Suzanne Michaud


Suzanne Michaud currently holds the position of vice-president, insurance, at CAA-Québec. Prior to this, she worked at Industrial Alliance, Home and Auto Insurance as vice-president, support and governance, vice-president, client experience (2008–2013), and director of marketing and communications (2000–2007). She also worked for Desjardins Insurance from 1996 to 2000, during which time she obtained her certificate as a personal lines damage insurance agent, which she has maintained since 1999.

She serves as the CAA-Québec spokesperson for damage insurance and travel insurance, and from 2000 to 2015 she was responsible for media relations for Industrial Alliance’s home and auto insurance line.

Suzanne Michaud obtained a BA in 1984 (majoring in communication and minoring in marketing) and a masters in marketing in 1996 from the Université Laval. She has also found time in her busy career to teach a damage insurance marketing course to DEC (Diplôme d’études collégiales) and AEC (Attestation d’études collégiales) students in the damage insurance stream at the Cégep de Sainte-Foy.

In her current role, Ms. Michaud maintains professional ties with the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC Québec), and the Centre de développement en assurances et services financiers – Puissance Onze (as a member of the image committee).

A sought-after guest speaker, she has delivered numerous lectures on managing a damage insurance client contact centre, on the client experience offered to clients of insurance companies, and on continuing improvements to the processes of damage insurance companies.

An experienced administrator, she has sat on various boards for cultural, sports, childhood education, and other organizations, including the Chambre d’assurance de dommages (ChAD) where, from May 2014 to October 2015, she served as a certified director for a direct insurer.
